They are more than likely struggling with either severe physical side effects or the dosage(s)/meds are being adjusted due to over or under performance.
A lot of the side effects for these types of meds can be brutal both physically and mentally until the right combination is found. What’s discouraging to some is that they are not an overnight fix but may take several weeks to regulate. It’s why so many stop taking their meds…the side effects being the main issue.
Mental illness is difficult to treat because everyone’s chemical make up is different. It isn’t like treating a cold or a broken bone. It’s more like having Type 1 diabetes. We have to continuously monitor and adjust in order to stay well.
Good thoughts going to your friend. They are taking the right steps for their well.

Hmmm. Hi Rae. I just think to myself that the medication they gave him is not reacting well with him. Maybe they gave him some different medicine or something that messed up his stomach or just didn't settle well with him. Maybe it had bad side effects. But there's nothing wrong with you asking that honey. You're so sweet to care so much about him. They'll get him straightened out.

I’d guess the medicine doesn’t agree with him or its side effects

@CultOfPersonality Likely yes.
And because his meds are uncertain, they want to get this straightened out before letting him out.

There are many side effects to anti-depressants and sometimes they have to keep you and do bloods to level it out. It’s not horrible but necessary for some. Take him a small 🌸 or snack.
Depression can be caused by a lot of things, but for people with chemical imbalances who require meds, it's as much art as science to maintain the proper dosage throughout life's ups and downs.

"Medication acting up" refers to when medication, intended to treat a condition, causes unexpected or undesirable effects. This can include symptoms like increased weakness, unusual behavior, or exacerbation of existing symptoms. For example:
1. It can occur when medications interact negatively with other substances like alcohol.
2. Some medications may unexpectedly worsen symptoms they are supposed to alleviate, such as chronic pain.
In everyday language, it signifies a situation where medication does not perform as expected, causing discomfort or complications.

His medication for his illness or illnesses stopped working. Also, the doctor feels its best he is hospitalized to get the medication to work or be changed . I was hospitalized 4 times for this reason and few times because I felt really bad. If Antidepressants are changing his moods or making hear voices he may need placed on other medications to balance out his chemical inbalance. Best wishes

If it's a new medication or a higher dosage it probably side effects. It might also be that it's taking a while to become effective.
Honestly I doubt I could switch medication at this point in my life without actually dying because of how long it takes to switch.

It just means its having strange effects on him and he's worried.. my sister also gets depressed i should go talk to her (she doesn't take meds but..) 😳😳 good luck to your friend.. i heard opera singing helps.. doing the singing that is.. i guess it releases unspoken grief 🙂

It probably means the meds are not really solving the problem, so he'll be in hospital while the doctors try and fine-tune the dosages of his meds; they'll be monitoring him to see just what works and what doesn't.

It could be any number of things without going with him and having his permission to ask questions to his doctor and it's difficult for you to figure it out

Yes, there are a wide range of side-effects that these sorts of meds can cause. Since your friend is seeking professional help, I think there's very little cause for concern.
