I Battle Depression

Lately I've started to feel more depressed than usual and I've started to wonder if I'll be taking steps back from how far I've come to overcome it. It's a harsh reminder that if I let the worst side of me beat out the better side of me, then I'll become totally lost like I once was.

It comes down to how much I care about myself and how much work and effort I'm willing to put in so I can persevere and meet new plateaus, hopefully one day finding the peak where depression doesn't register any more.

I think one of the hardest things is finding the will to improve when you're dealing with thoughts that are encouraging you to give up. Therein lies the battle.

On a positive note, I can say as I write this, that I enjoy the challenge. If we don't have obstacles to overcome that help mould us into something more advanced than what we once were, then how can it be satisfying to live our lives?

As I'm to die like everyone else, I'd prefer to die having achieved something worthwhile.

Satisfaction is within us man...looking for it outside is root of most problems.

That's the whole point of working on a healthy body and mind, from outside to within.

I believe its the other way round...

You could say it flows both ways, one feeding the other.

Why must they feed off each other? Can't they both relax!? :-)

It's like any relationship, there's give and take. It's the harmony that's present in a world of duality, though if you think it terms of non-dualistic thinking then they're both a part of the same thing.

There is thinking and there is knowing. Are they both one and same? Or do they also feed off each other?
SolitaryFriend · 41-45, M
Thinking is more the tool to discover knowing, but it also connects to the emotional body so it's a mechanism that acts as one unified system, perhaps.

There is no knowing without thinking?
SolitaryFriend · 41-45, M
Knowing exists if thinking isn't present, but I'd say thought is first needed to start the discovery. Even when there's no chatter in the mind, there is visual thought, which likely comes about once we can first open our eyes.

Thoughts or intentions?
SolitaryFriend · 41-45, M
I'd say thoughts lead to intentions.

Hmmm...
