I Have Mild Depression

A few years ago, I realized I was in the middle of a mini depression, stemming from issues I am still challenged by today. At that time, I pulled myself out of it by using journaling, yoga, vitamins, light therapy, and talking with a therapist.

It worked then, but now I am once again finding myself slowly withdrawing from my life. I am on autopilot. I am not necessarily sad all the time, just not as joyful as I usually am, with much of my creative energy gone. The glitter has faded...I am in a fog of sorts, with no motivation to do much of anything productive. That is not like me.

I am slowly taking steps again to naturally bring myself back to my true, sparkly self. I am managing, barely, with support from those closest to me. I started seeing a new therapist, so that's good. I continue to walk 3 miles in the fresh air, each day, which helps ground me. I am searching for positive podcasts and enlightening books. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Have you been through this and found certain things have really helped you? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I look forward to getting back to my fully fabulous self very soon! ✨

That is great that you have the support of those closest to you, this kind of thing is always easier when you have friends and family that support you. Depression with the feeling of loneliness is a bad combination. Something that helps me at times is audiobooks. Put on headphones and an audiobook that you feel you might enjoy. Close your eyes for an hour or so and loose yourself in the book. It can help you clear your mind a little and make things a little easier when you get back to the real world. If you listen to music while you walk, you could listen to the audiobook instead as an option as well. Another thing that might help is instead of trying to deal with the depression as a whole, maybe take little steps. Such as make a small positive change in your life that could make you feel good about yourself. That might make the bigger problem of your depression a little easier for you. Good luck in your goal to be fabulous again. If it helps, I'm very sure there are people who think you are fabulous no matter how you feel about yourself.

Thanks for the great advice. The friend I walked with last evening mentioned audiobooks as well. I like the idea of baby steps too. It's too daunting otherwise. I'll get there:) @gmatthewb

@GlamGirl Most people give up because they get over whelmed. Take on the little battles and before you know it, the big issues are not so big any more. Stay strong, lean on those you trust for support. You don't have to go through this alone.

I do feel a bit overwhelmed, but far from giving up. I am a survivor to the core. I am fortunate I am surrounded by love. Thank you for your wise words. ✨@gmatthewb

I am so sorry you are battling this Glam. I only once had anything like depression. I was getting divorced(30yrs ago) and had thoughts of suicide. Not sure why but...sitting by myself alone crying...I decided that death didnt solve anything and that I and I alone could fix me. So I decided that the rest of my life I was gonna do what made me happy. And I have been! My hope for you is for you to find you and your inner peace. You are such a gorgeous, sexy Lady and deserve to be happy with yourself and life.

forget the podcasts forget the walking. it won't solve anything. you are depressed for a reason. find that reason. face it. fix it. all your problems will be solved. that's the only way. stop lying to yourself.
GlamGirl · F
I am working on getting to the bottom of it, but until I get there, I need some coping strategies. @unknownpoetx

@unknownpoetx I don't think that she considers those things solutions, just things to get her through the day. She's going to therapy.
