Some people will go to great lengths (climb to great heights, or sink to great depths) to garner the attention and sympathy of others. It's like a cottage industry of con artists, peddling their proverbial "snake oil" to the unassuming and gullible masses in desperate hopes of making an easy profit.

Society is creating classes of oppression, membership of these classes confers some status so it is not surprising that some people will profess to be in those groups even when they aren’t in reality. When I say “status” I am meaning some perceived benefit or advantage, perhaps even sympathy from the rest of society.

@Medoesnotcare Of course I'm not mocking you. Please tell me what the word "your" is referring to. It doesn't make sense in your post.
Colormegone · 70-79, M
I hear you. I think he means you’re. @Crazychick
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@Colormegone Who is "he"? And if "he" (whoever "he" is) meant "you're", why didn't "he" say "you're" in the first place? I mean, why use the wrong word? What's the point of that? 🤔
There is or was an account here that did that..
People actually fell for it even though I tried to warn some that he had made several accounts before hitting on Autism as a sympathy hook..
Really pathetic and a low life thing to do.

I’ve never seen a population so self interested in carrying a ’diagnosis’ on their sleeve. Mental disorders aren’t a fashion statement .
(To the general public- Asperger’s is no longer recognized.)
