I have a neighbour who is 27 he has autism..

He's never had a job or gone to college, his parents are always telling him all he can't do, they really aren't nice to him, I know because he's always talking to my husband and he tells him things he probably shouldn't, he's obviously disabled and lacking support.

He got himself in a mess, he says he went to the toilet in a public park, but somebody saw him and says he was performing a sex act on himself while watching 2 teenage school girls, the judge let him off and says I don't want to see you again in this court again (I feel he was lenient because of his obvious disability)

But now, If I google his name it comes up on a sex register, jeez.. What a mess

I see this guy all the time, his parents have now told him he shouldn't go out and he needs to wear his hood up to hide, he can't explain himself properly and it's hard to know what's the truth, it's so weird

My friend's daughter was getting sexually harassed by a mentally disabled person and the school was being very reluctant to do anything about it. They need to treat everyone the same because it's not ok for anyone to violate someone.

@MyNameIsHurl Autism Spectrum Disorder falls under Developmental Disability in the DSM not mental.

@Greyjedi hi, what's the difference?
Greyjedi · M
@DeluxedEdition mentally disabled would be more correctly said as intellectually disabled and as it’s name suggests it means their intellect is well below average 70 or below. This effects all aspects of there life. Developmental disability or (DD) effects generally specific parts of life like in the general case of ASD social understanding, communication and stimulation difficulties are some challenging aspects that can me common. However they are intelligent in their our more specified ways and Autism 1 people are especially intelligent. At the same time people with say to Down syndrome is a developmental disability that can have an influence like an intellectual disability. Retrograde Autism can also seem to effect, intelligence. @DeluxedEdition do you understand now?
