I just took Adderall today after years of not using it and I’m so calm and ready 🗣
I’m the inattentive type because I’m so full of myself that my brain thinks I have better things to focus on then the task at hand eh oh el. She’s so silly.

@Cremosa Some tasks are so utterly boring that no one should be doing them. Like who the hell reads the fine print of everything? That should be criminal. I haven't been on Adderall but I need to be on it, I think. Ativan helps me... I hope adderall is similar. I'm not formally diagnosed but I absolutely know I have it. I think I have the inattentive type too. The girl type.

@Catastrophe I was diagnosed a little late in the game at 17.
My family doesn’t believe in mental issues or things like adhd in general so I think that’s why it wasn’t nipped in the butt early on?
I was in and out of the principals office so much in elementary school and remember being taken out of class a lot because everyone around me knew something was off just not my own parents. They took it as me just misbehaving lol

@Cremosa Yes, it's such a relief to know that that's what it was. My mom too... I didn't find out till much later in life for the same reasons as you. It's nice to know the truth.

@Adroneandastrain The very last thing I need is Elon Musk, the misogynist, in my head. 😭

@Catastrophe Sorry, yeah bad man!!
Catastrophe · New
@Adroneandastrain Definitely not a good one. I got banned today, on X, for an 'inauthentic account' whatever that means -. digital ID is on its way here but I don't want to contribute to X at all anymore. Elon has turned really evil. Diabolical really.

@Catastrophe Persistent Depressive Disorder. Used to be called Dysthymia!
Catastrophe · New
@Guardian Oh yeah, I'm sure I have that and anxiety... what don't I have? Effects of a war that's hard to define. Thank you for adding me, I have added you as well. Polar bear ftw

@Catastrophe Dysthymia, also known as persistent depressive disorder, is a mild but long-lasting form of depression that can affect a person's mood, energy levels, and ability to enjoy life. Symptoms typically include a sad or empty mood lasting for at least two years, along with other issues like low self-esteem and difficulty concentrating.

In the early 1970's I was called something different than those terms Hyperactive and put on Ridlon three times a day. And taken off of it three years later then labeled dyslexic.
I hate labels and being labeled ever since.

@WillaKissing Everyone is different, I suppose. I used to not have a label for my mom... I just thought that she was selfish, forgetful, not present, inattentive, etc then I thought of her in terms of adhd and I could forgive a lot of it, for that reason. It's not her fault.
WillaKissing · 61-69, M
@Catastrophe You are right. For me I have been labeled one thing or another my entire life, and I have grown sick of being labeled! Damn it why can't I be just called human. Why do I need a label to make others to feel safe about themselves.
This is my take on labels.
True diagnosis is a totally different situation though and yes leads to true understanding.
