Why tiny tornado was so excited tonight

So as I posted earlier Joel wasn't feeling good. Our boys came home and it was very clear our youngest was very excited. I asked him why and he ran to his backpack and pulled out a envelope address to Joel and I.

He has so excited I swear he was shacking.

Can we face time Star and Uncle before you open it.

So we got them online and read the letter.

I'll do a recap of what it said.

It was a progress report on him

His grades are the top 5% of his class since getting his glasses.

The fidgit toys we've been using this school has started have made a huge difference in keeping him focused on his studies.

He only needs to be reminded to use is inside voice a few times a day

He rarely needs to be reminded to use calm feet during the day.

His amazing child doing so well in school.

We are all so proud of him. We've all worked so hard to encourage him and guide him. Me, Joel , Star, my buddy, Grandma.

This reward is to go to the Lego store this weekend and pick out any set he wants.

This is something I really needed. It's been suggested to put him on meds and as you know I'm not against that. I need them, our daughter needs them but with him I've never felt like it was right. I always felt he just needed a few extra things to help him focus on his own. And Joel has supported this 100%

Today I feel like we are doing the right thing for him. Maybe that will change as he gets older who knows but tonight was a huge win for our Tiny tornado 🌪

That is SO awesome! I think all of us here on SW are ALSO proud of your incredible little TT!!!!!
Your extremely sensitive approach to raising this wonderful little boy is paying off in a HUGE way!!!

@4meAndyou thank you. I know our style of parenting isn't for everyone but have 3 amazing children. They are carrying, sweet polite and well-mannered. They are well behaved in public and in school. I'm definitely not saying everything is perfect and we have our struggles every now and then. But it's nice to get a good progress report on him when I've had a handful of people tell me I should put him on medicine or discipline him when he gets a bit too hyper and excited.

@Cigarguy But WITHOUT medication or "disciplining" him...just with careful loving words...you TAUGHT him to use his indoor voice and his "calm feet", and he is just exploding with progress!
