Mental health nose dive

So I know I’ve been posting a lot of « cheerful » things lately about mental health, depression and starting a new medication (citalopram).

It’s only been a few days, and at first the side effects were manageable — slight irritability and dizziness.

Today… oh, today was rough.

We’re talking intrusive thoughts that felt like someone had wired my worst nightmare straight into my head. It felt like a foreign object piercing my poor mind. Add to that an intrusive “voice” that seemed hell-bent on distorting whatever is left of my self-esteem, and yeah… it was a rough day.

Honestly, I’m a little lost at the moment. I’m hoping these are temporary side effects and not my new reality.

But I also want to keep talking about this, even when it isn’t pretty. Because if being honest about what I’m going through makes someone else feel a little less alone, then maybe there’s something positive that can come from it.

And if you’re struggling yourself, whether it’s anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, or just one of those days where everything feels too heavy — you can always reach out to me. I may not have the answers, but I can listen. No judgement, no pretending to have everything figured out.

We’re all trying to get through this together. And if we can help each other stay afloat, even a little, then maybe the tide really does raise all ships.

Today wasn’t a good day.

But it was just one day.
