Should I try to be a comedian?

You know beneath all this rage, depression, sadness and more rage I am actually quite funny. I even got a bit about being hung up on by the suicide hotline in my youth.

Honestly, if you can find humor in the middle of all that pain, that says a lot about your strength. And for what it’s worth, whoever hung up on you at the suicide hotline absolutely should have been fired — that’s the exact moment someone is supposed to show up and listen. I’m really glad you’re still here though, truly.

Mental illness is heavy and messy, and sometimes the only way through it is finding an outlet that lets some of it out. For me, writing has always been really therapeutic. If comedy helps you process things and turn that pain into something that makes people laugh or feel less alone, then honestly… that might be a really powerful thing. Keep sharing your voice.

Hung up on? Was it a mere disconnection?

I have heard that some people get put on hold. I was once talking to a co-worker about that, he said, "They pick up in time to hear the gun go off." 🤣

@HoeBag no the guy hung up on me.

@Captainjackass Now why would he do that? I mean for some on the edge, that could be the final straw.

@HoeBag he told me to call my therapist and then hung up.
