From your knowledge of psychology, what causes an addictive personality?

I think it's an inherited trait, how impulsive you are, how you respond to reward and how easy it is to emotionally regulate but genes aren't destiny they only identify risk, not certainty.

I mean....sometimes it's hereditary..ya know if you come from a long line or addicts and I also think it comes from a place where ppl are trying to cover up a void and alot of underlying issues they are afraid to discuss or arnt ready yet
