Transvestic Disorder still appears in the DSM-V. However, it's not a mental disorder. Instead, transvestic disorder falls under the umbrella term of paraphilia, any atypical sexual thoughts or erotic behavior.
This is the crucial element required for a diagnosis: One's fantasies, sexual urges or behaviors cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational or other areas of functioning.
