Why does it seem my generation is so messed up mentally? (I'm 32)

People born in my generation, seem to have more mental issues than the generation before?
like anxiety, depression etc..

like, why are we all in therapy?

why is my generation so "messed up"?

I think the world is a more depressing and anxiety-inducing place than it was before. It's much harder to succeed now, we're bombarded with pressures, negativity, and other harmful influences from the internet/social media now.

It's also just much more socially acceptable to see a therapist now, so there's that factor as well. People treat therapy like going to the gym.
You spare the rod you spoil the child.

Parents overly protected the children and then they weren't ready for life, also social media and the internet have made people more introverts, which is alright.

But at the end of the day, humans are a social animal, and being social and being vocal and being interactive is the #1 way of venting and not letting trauma build up and overload you, and western society is losing that main method of venting and the trauma is building out and overloading people.

Plus over thinking, I mean look at kids and dogs, they're usually happy because they don't have to think.

Parents and schools protected the kids so they don't have to think, then they get in the real world and have decision overload as they have to make tons of decisions, instead of simply following the system.

Also, in past generations, they would get rid of the special people by putting them in homes or getting them out of the general public. So they were there, but maybe not seen as much, where today that's seen as bad, and they're more public with stuff now days.

Like with autism... more people are aware of it and it's more socially acceptable than the generations before.

Previously, mental health had to be buried and never mentioned because of social stigma.

Social media. Also, there's better awareness about mental health now. It used to be a taboo. And honestly the 30s is a pretty stressful stage of life
so they did it to us? its thier fault? how?

The inventing of all kinds of nonsenical specialized medical conditions and gender variations. People latch onto these as their badges and excuses for poor performance.
