I've been taking it for many years without any side effects. Although I'm starting to wonder if it has anything to do with me having a hard time losing weight.

When do you take it? If you taking it at night maybe try taking it in the morning instead.
@UltimateDemiGoddess Maybe you could try something else. Everyone is different.
@UltimateDemiGoddess Also try taking Melatonin at night. It relaxes you. I take 10mg every night about an hour before bed.

You can get it over the counter at a pharmacy.

@MsSwan I'm worried about weight gain. Olanzepine made me gain weight and I was swollen. Largactil made me heavy. Thank you for the melatonin suggestion. I tried that once when I was trying to stop marijuana

My close friend took Setraline. Although things go bad before things get better but your wellbeing will only go down for a short while.

I pray for u it works. My friend isn't completely cured but atleast, he is better before having taken it.

If it works great, otherwise get a counsellor onboard. It's wha I done. Counselling is NOT like medication where u need it for life. Counselling will last a year or 2. Yes, expensive but hey! 2 years permanent cure is better than 40 years of depression.

@Sazzio yeah fair enough. Thank you for sharing this with me.

I switched from Effexor to Zoloft (sertraline) combined with Abilify in 2009. I did not do well on it. My anxiety was horrible. In the hospital I was given Lorazepam when my anxiety got really bad, but upon discharge I didn’t get that anymore, and no other anxiety meds were working well enough.
I switched to Paxil after that one, and was much more calm
UltimateDemiGoddess · 31-35, F
@itsok okay which one are you currently on?
itsok · 31-35, F
@UltimateDemiGoddess I’m not on any ssri’s snri’s or tricyclics anymore. The last antidepressant I was on was doxepin, but I was using it for nightmare management, rather than the MDD.
I am on Prazosin (nightmares), propranolol (anxiety and migraine prevention), and hydroxizine (anxiety) right now
and a hormone supplement
UltimateDemiGoddess · 31-35, F
@itsok okay we most likely have very different conditions
I'm on Sertraline, aripiprazole and zopiclone

Try Amitriptyline.
UltimateDemiGoddess · 31-35, F
@GuyWithOpinions okay I'll ask my doctor about it
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
@UltimateDemiGoddess i take it. It makes you kinda drowsy in the first week or so but i didnt notice it after a couple weeks. Its not too over powering but my emotions are still pretty contained.
UltimateDemiGoddess · 31-35, F
@GuyWithOpinions thank you for this information
No antidepressant is good. They all mess up with your brain.
