I think your therapist is just trying to get you the help you need. Like a surgeon turning things over to a specialist.

You're there to get better not to be a friend or make friends. He is being professional in deciding you might be best served with someone else. It would be unethical (but easy to do) to keep getting paid but not make any progress with you.
The relationship should be client based & therapeutic.

as someone who has been “transferred” by many therapists and a couple psychiatrists, I know it hurts my feelings, but keep showing up. It can take a while to find the right people to help you

I'd see it less as running your therapist away and more as making sure you're with someone who's a right fit. It's not a bad thing.

Ya gotta doctor shop. Find the right fit.
Never let the results of someone's brand of healing define you.
Its a practice....for a reason.

@Punxi I agree with needing to find the right fit.
But many move on to someone new as soon as they need to do the individual work during treatment. It's fun early on to share your story & bring out your mess but then finally comes the time to work on your stuff & move forward. Of course, that's not easy for anyone BUT that is the path to "recovery". The therapist's job is not to "fix" you but to put you on the path to heal yourself with their guidance.

Well if he isn't helping you it’s better to go to someone else that maybe can.. some are way better than others
If you have autism, then you need a therapist that understands the disorder and how it affects you.
Continuing to engage with a therapist who is unaware of autism and it's effects can actually be worse for you in the longer term. It's not about being stupid or not being stupid... it's about getting you the best support to head off on your healing journey.
