Niacin deficiency, known as pellagra, may cause several mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression and hallucinations. Niacin supplements can also help treat some cases of schizophrenia.

@markinkansas I was meditating a lot and doing breath work and it worked for many years but since I have this widespread pain I’m finding it hard to cope

I am into naturopathy. But I can understand that for certain periods in life someone can choose to take medication.
I believe in going back to nature, our natural, slower rhythms, using sunlight, simple foods, juices, relaxation as our way to healing.
Adding the arts in the equation for our soul, music, dance, theater, listening to others stories.
I can't know your situation but I come from a school of thought that says, you can heal your Life.
I'm not perfect and I'm losing balance and making mistakes.
I'm not a doctor, but I'm taking the responsibility to be the doctor of myself, knowing and accepting the full spectrum of such a responsibility.
I'm telling you all that, so, along with the rest of responses, you can gain a wider perspective for what can work for you...
Good luck with whichever solution you decide..
@being yep hence why I tried two tablets that didn’t agree with me I know my body and I know what works and doesn’t sometimes it’s hard to find that balance

@Spiritualangel777 yes I understand that... Since you know already, trust in your knowing and take action towards the way that feels most aligned. Find the medicine that works for you ❤
@being thank you 🙏🏻 ❤
It’s tough I know but there are different medications and combinations of medications to be tried. Unfortunately it can be a matter of trial and error until you (and your doctor) find what works. The important thing is not to give up.
@OlderSometimesWiser yeah your totally right it took them years to stable out my bipolar but I just got to keep trying to find the right balance

You might confer w/the doctor's office to see how long it takes to stabilize, or if a change of dosage is warranted.
@Spiritualangel777 Ugh

The other issue--and you seem aware enough to mention this--is that many persons with mental health issues say that the feeling when taking meds might well be normal for most others, but it doesn't feel like their own, personal "normal", bc they simply aren't used to feeling other than as they do WITH the issue(s).

It's not easy to thread all the needles there...
@SomeMichGuy yep but I will get through this I always do I just got to be postive and keep doing things that make me happy!
@Spiritualangel777 Good. But be careful.

The best thing to do is to contact the person prescribing your medication, and tell them what you just wrote, above.

They might be able to change your medication.
@4meAndyou yes I am going to make another appointment
4meAndyou · F
@Spiritualangel777 I've spoken to a friend who is being treated for mental health issues, and my understanding is that the medications are hit or miss. Basically they don't KNOW what's going to work. And something might work for a while, and then stop working.
@4meAndyou Yep it so is I have tried two so far and one made me sick and the other one made me dissociate so badly I didn’t feel real it was awful 😞
YoMomma ·
Maybe you need different medication or something else entirely.. sorry.. hope you find something that cheers you up tho 🙂
@YoMomma I have a holiday coming up so I’m hoping to find some balance there 🤞🏻🙏🏻😩

@Spiritualangel777 All medicines have bad side effects. Take a few minutes to research your medicines' side effects. If you see a connection ask your doctor if you can get new medicine.
@Diotrephes yeah I will do 🙏🏻
