thought i would ask the question that he refused to allow on his trans thread and mental illness.

why is gender dysmorphia the only mental condition that people praise, encourage and support body mutilation as a form of treatment?
We do not encourage it anywhere else and all other mental conditions are treated with treating the mind.
Would you allow or encourage a schizophrenic person who has delusions that make him/her want to self harm? no, of course not.
Why is this any different?

this is not a anti trans thread before people come here with their fake outrage. Its a anti everyone thread. Those who actually support body mutilation as a form of treating a mental condition and certainly a anti you thread if you support this with children

I know a couple of people who have had gender dysmorphia (female to male) and at least in the UK you have to go through a lot of steps before physical surgery.

That includes therapy and hormone treatments. only then can you get physically altered withthe waiting time for surgery lasting years.

There are quite a few other mental health issues that get turned into surgery. Mainly around unhappines at cosmetic appearance.

@JacksonBlue yes but those are steps towards the actual treatment would you not say?

@Torsten id say they were potential solutions with surgery being the last measure. I know the therapy has made people stop going through with the transition. But i do think a lot of trans people go into it wanting the surgery and think everything else is a waste of time.

The same way some obese people want surgery but have to go through the therapy and alternative solutions before they can get surgery.

@JacksonBlue fair call.
Yes, there is therapy, but it normally is therapy to see if they are suited to the operations and so on. That seems to me like basically just a step to get to the treatment and the treatment when it comes to mutilating healthy bodies over a mental condition, i dont agree with it being a cure. Especially when suicide rate is still very high after the operations and yeah certain people try and claim its due to bullying and harassment but i think the real cause of it is when those operations are done, trans people at times realize the surgeries was not a cure and they still feel the way they did before the operations except now they have to go through a tremendously rough painful healing period.
