If you have pain, swelling, numbness or tingling or you start losing movement then it's a problem to get the doc to look at but otherwise probably just normal and part of getting older. I wouldn't worry if it's not affecting you. ❤

@PatientlyWaiting25 okay thank you. Yes it doesn't bother me, and if I bend my finger at the 3rd knuckle it's painful probably on a pain level scale of 2 or 3. It hurts when you bend but then it goes away.

Some sensible and calming comments here, but I think a medical diagnosis is always best given my a qualified medic.

@FreddieUK and no you're right, I'd hoped maybe if someone else had the same problem at one time they could tell me more

Misalignment of the joints IS one possible symptom of post-traumatic arthritis, which can occur after the joint is injured.
twiigss · M
@4meAndyou hmmm, I'm not sure if I injured that part of my finger. I don't think I did. But thank you for your information, I'll look it up and do some research cause I'm like, this is no good
4meAndyou · F
@twiigss Repetitive motion CAN possibly cause injury.

YoMomma ·
probably not.. but who knows .. can you get it in just one finger? unlikely but im not expert in the field.. you may just be paranoid/self conscious because of her
twiigss · M
@YoMomma she had to be in her late 60s. But with the type of work we were doing back then, she said her fingers got like that from doing the tight twisting over the years and slowly developed arthritis in both hands.

She's long since retired now. April I'll be there for 9 years though 😁
YoMomma ·
@twiigss ok ☺ may i ask what you guys were making?
Musicman · 61-69, M
Do you have any pain or difficulty using the finger? If not I wouldn't think that you have a problem.
twiigss · M
@Musicman I don't, but one day I bent it and went, OW! What the hell?! Then I noticed it was crooked
