@jshm2 Nah the kids aren't guzzling milk like they used to. Milk consumption hit an all-time low in 2021.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@jshm2 Somebody's cranky today. 😆
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
I understand it and my grandma thinks I still drink milk every morning hahahah I don't know how to break it up to her
dimfok · 22-25, M
@HannibalAteMeOut θα σε βοηθησω να της το πεις αν μπορω να μεινω να παρακολουθήσω το show
Elessar · 26-30, M
@HannibalAteMeOut Same here

«Yeah, my cholesterol may be 9,000 mg/dL but I never broke a bone! Ha!» *sips milk*
itsok · 31-35, F
Imagine going to lunch every day as an adult and getting a big glass of milk. Still thirsty? You can get another milk.
School lunch was so weird
deadgerbil · 22-25
@itsok it should've been goat milk
itsok · 31-35, F
deadgerbil · 22-25
@itsok ?ho
Straylight · 31-35, F
Pudding kids are harder to kidnap!
SW-User
I would have guzzled milk anyway. This reminds me I bought chocolate milk today.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SW-User You're from the midwest the only substance you have there is corn, milk, and deep fried butter.
SW-User
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SW-User I'm kidding. There's also casseroles and pie.
Actually new research might bring that back. Turns out milk is more hydrating and of course there are also calcium and other minerals and vitamins. And healthier than Gatorade aka sugar water with electrolytes.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I remember those. Especially the one set to Beethoven's 9th symphony. It was real horrorshow. (For those who get the reference, that's great, but for those who don't, I'm not gonna explain it)
@CountScrofula Wow. Didn't realize you were Canadian. I was actually born in Red Deer and have family in Lethbridge.

Anyway, I guess it really was dependent on how much stock one's family put in the government food guide stuff and the milk ad campaigns.

The closest I got when I was in school was those single serve milk cartons at lunch in elementary school.

For me what was worse was in Rockland, Ontario in the early 90s we were given fluoride in a liquid mouthwash kind of liquid. They claimed it was watermelon flavoured. That was a daily thing in class and it tasted vile. lol
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Hah yeah I had the fluoride rinse in school as well.

And yeah I live north of Edmonton and although I've been around Canada I'm back in the town I grew up in.
Ynotisay · M
It's true though. Milk is good for kids bones and teeth. Adults too in moderation.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Ynotisay Lots of things are good for kids' bones and teeth. Milk propaganda is a huge industry thing. And I love milk!
Ynotisay · M
@CountScrofula Yeah. The milk industry is big business and they're going to sell their stuff. But calcium is the key to bone health and there's not many alternatives that don't derive from dairy. Some leafy greens and tofu can work, or products that have calcium added, but dairy is the most accessible. But you're right. They pitch the product in a certain way and mentioning any downsides isn't part of it.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Yeah, and then it turns out your father is the milkman.
I remember the cafeteria ladies wouldn't let you leave until you drank your milk, and it would make me vomit. Thankfully my brother would help me sneak out or throw it out.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Nadie something about that cafeteria milk was off. Possibly the fact that it often tasted more like the cardboard holding it than it did actual milk...
Carla · 61-69, F
I quit milk when i came off a bottle. Mom said i refused to drink it.
She also was not a milk enthusiast.
A small drink of chocolate milk is it for me. More and it makes me ill.
Mom always sent me school with a thermos of juice.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
My dad still calls me to ask if I'm drinking milk 😂

But hey. My skeleton is stronger than ever! 💪Also milk makes the body create melatonin , a sleeping aid so I drink milk before bed. 😄
They will never understand the posters on the wall at school. The colorful food groups poster. Given to every school by the meat packing industry.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
When I was a kid, I could put milk away like nobody's business. Much to the point where my folks couldn't keep a carton of it in the fridge for more than a day.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Lmao, my kid is horrified that my brother and I would drink milk as a beverage with dinner. In her world it's only for cereal.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
Somedays milk was was my only meal. Stfu
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Patriot96 I knew I'd offend someone with this innocuous joke post.
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
Right?? Ugh I can’t even stomach the idea of drinking milk
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
Even if you were lactose intolerant?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@ImRileyTheDog ESPECIALLY IF YOU WERE LACTOSE INTOLERANT
deadgerbil · 22-25
I missed out
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
"Big Milk" 😆
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
I was about 15 when I became lactose intolerant. Fun times drinking milk then bending double in pain and roaring diarrhea.....
Despite my lactose intolerance I guzzled a gallon a day. Vomiting makes you stronger.
Warm milk in a carton for lunch 🤢
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
I used to drink a giant glass of ice milk at dinner haha until multiple people pointed out the weirdness of it
Jexie · 26-30, F
@SkeetSkeet girl you're like me 🤣
wackidywack · 22-25
Oh my god what
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I guess I was lucky to not have a father that bought into that. I had milk with cereal or with cookies or with cake. Otherwise it was mostly a cooking ingredient. It was pretty rare to just drink milk by itself. My brother did because he liked it, but nobody was pushing it on us.
I was lactose intolerant, so Pop used to make trips to JapanTown for soy milk. In school they substituted my milk during break for apple juice.
DDonde · 31-35, M
True true I drank so much milk as a kid.

Renaci · 36-40
My brother still does that. He claims anything but real cow milk has glue in it. Buttttt... He works for big milk.
Which is bizarre. Does he really think me buying a gallon of milk is going to increase his pay. lol.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
My youngest is lactose intolerant. He’s thankful I don’t force him to drink it lol
MethDozer · M
Love milk. It's a damn near perfect food
