They try to claim the cost of research and development is the reason behind their prices. I get that R&D is extremely expensive. But that arguement loses all credibility when their shareholders received more than $10.9 billion in stock dividends and buybacks.
@SooperSarah It's horseshit. Most actual new cures and drugs are piggy backed off of University and government funded and conducted research. Then they just develop a way to brand and market it. The largest bulk or the R&D they do themselves is just tweaking molecules of medicines we already have so they can replace expiring patents.
Not surprised in the least. I feel docs (here), pharma and insurance companies are all in on it. Maybe doctors got sucked into it, but they sure aren't saying no to the Mercedes Benz and 4000 SQ ft homes by the beach, vacations, ECT.
@Flenflyys I went to the walk in after I left her office and they tested and treated me on the spot for the infection. I still haven't received her test results or heard from her after a full business week. Imagine if I waited for her? 😂
The even more sad part is my oncologist wouldn't prescribe me antibiotics either. He said it wasn't typical but when I looked it up 36% of women get an infection simply because the surgery disturbs their natural flora. And my gynecologic oncologist didn't know this?
Biden enacted a program hat requires the pharmaceuticals to negotiate for Medicare drugs to bring prices down. Appeals and fights are upcoming. Because of course they are. While the administration can enact rules for government programs, like Medicare, it doesn't touch the free market. But I guess Americans are more on board with being the [i]only [/i]industrialized nation on earth without access to government run healthcare. We pay the most and get the least. Because America.
