Not surprised in the least. I feel docs (here), pharma and insurance companies are all in on it. Maybe doctors got sucked into it, but they sure aren't saying no to the Mercedes Benz and 4000 SQ ft homes by the beach, vacations, ECT.
@SW-User companies come into offices and hospitals here and cater massive lunches for the doctors and try to get them to prescribe their more expensive grand over the generic version of the same thing.

@Flenflyys That's so weird. Basically bribery. I just ditched my doc because she wouldn't prescribe me antibiotics when I had an infection after surgery, but she was pushing Prozac on me hard. To the point of telling me I was messed up.
@SW-User wow that’s grossly negligent. Can nurses and pharmacists prescribe antibiotics there?
My doctor isn’t the best either, but we have such a shortage that if I were to drop her I’d never find another one.

@Flenflyys I went to the walk in after I left her office and they tested and treated me on the spot for the infection. I still haven't received her test results or heard from her after a full business week. Imagine if I waited for her? 😂
The even more sad part is my oncologist wouldn't prescribe me antibiotics either. He said it wasn't typical but when I looked it up 36% of women get an infection simply because the surgery disturbs their natural flora. And my gynecologic oncologist didn't know this?
