Even if I am having a terrible day I still smile and say I am doing great. Today my stomach hurts. I would love to go to the bathroom again and I only got about 3 to 4 hours of sleep last night. A nap would be awesome too.

Always say I'm ok. Even to my partner. I'm big on handling my own stuff and not putting it on others. I don't see that as being fair. "I'm OK" is the best way I've found. Fine with listening and helping others if they ask though.

I grew up with the literal meaning of what people said. I thought "How are you?" was a question, until I learned it was just a greeting - saying hello. Now, my standard reply to the comment is, "I'm okay."
