Feeling broken

I lost my Daddy today. I feel like the world should stop. I was blessed to have such a loving wonderful father but he leaves a really big hole.

I miss my dad too. For all our arguments he was very dear to me. The last words I said to him were.

Dad I don’t want you to go.

I'm pretty damn close to losing mine as well, I'm sure. I've heard you never fully get over it, you just carry on.
@LordShadowfire
You become emotionally sidelined, somewhat like having a mental block to the forward progression of your own life, as if you've become involuntarily parked on a railway siding as you watch life move past you on the mainline without you being able to engage with any of it.

@swirlie I completely feel that right now. Everything moving by and around me is fuzzy and I don’t feel real

I think the only thing that helped me to snap out of it after a very long period of time was one day out of the blue, some very subtle things began happening around me which made me acutely aware in those moments that the deceased person's spirit was trying to interact with me.. or communicate with me, for no other reason than to let me know that they were still 'present' and that we don't actually go anywhere when we appear to die.

A strong message I received in the night subsequent to that experience was... "WE are not our body and though the body is eventually laid aside, our soul is eternal and we cannot die".
