Does money affect who you are attracted to?

My wife’s family have quite a lot of money and I wouldn’t say I chose her because of it, it did definitely affect how I thought of her. A lot of people don’t consider her very attractive, they say she’s really boring to be around (she dated some people in school who said she just wanted to talk about herself and didn’t want to do anything else.) She has been described as ‘dressing like a tacky grandma’ 🥺.
Her parents money allows us to have a really nice time though, going shopping, out for meals, nice holidays etc. It’s really nice.

Not money as such but people who grew up or became rich had/have more options to take better care of their health, hygiene and appearance and even modify their natural unattractive physical features like poor posture or severely crooked teeth, they also were likely to receive better education so I would say money matters but it's not everything. It just helps creating the impression that someone is healthy and clean, smells nice etc. which might attract the logical parts of brain but not necessarily the raw, primitive, animalistic ones. 😅

No. People are there wit, charisma and humour, not their bank balance.

no i'm shallow i like a cute face and a reasonable personality .. money is nice but not everything
Not at all. I'm attracted to who I'm attracted to. I have no choice.

@MsSwan so all that effort I’ve put in was for naught.

😐
@BillyMack What effort?
No, it has no bearing on whether I’m attracted or not.

Of course it has a little bit of bearing on how I think of them, but none in how I treat them. I treat the rich just as the poor, all the same.

If you love her, it doesn’t matter what others think of her. 🙂

Wealth dues not seen to affect how I am towards a person I have romantic interests in. I am of an older mindset and feel it's a guy's place to pay for outings and dates.

I joke that I married Lynn because her family was wealthy. Actually, I would have married her if she had been homeless. The wealth turned out to be an illusion, anyway.

It definitely seems to affect things for you.

Not once in there did you say what you liked about her.

@BillyMack Read his other posts about his wife. A certain picture of the wife's character starts to emerge.
