How did you get over losing the love of your life?

How long did it take? And how did you lose them? Was it a breakup, death, or something else altogether?

I don't know if this counts. I meet her at the strip club for one night. It turns out she was a very detail woman i imagine in my head at age 12. I had no money was overweight and she lied to me saying she was going to lay in my lap. Friends got two of her friends numbers, also wanted to give more money since i had like 40 bucks. After leaving early. I told my friend whom he was talking to the stripper friend that sat with him. To try to get the stripper name that was suppose to sit in my lap. I eanted to be her regular annd get to know her also lose wight in the process so she could see the real me. Commence going back to school to show I was willing to finish what i started. She stay in my head only because it was a girl l IMAGINE.

I haven't. She developed cancer which spread quickly. As I said, I haven't got over it, and probably never will. It's been 10 years since she was taken from us, that's the kids and I. We talk about her often, I talk to her a lot every day. The loss never goes away.

I don't know if I'll ever get over her. We've been apart for years as a result of some dishonesty on her part, some misunderstanding on my part, and a lot of bad timing and pride...

It took us 5 years to grow together and 8 years to come apart

Not sure I had a "love of my life", sure, had partners that cheated or went full psycho and they weren't it. I suppose the closest thing was having to break it off with someone who was incredibly ill. We loved each other, but we also weren't good for each other either. I couldn't be what they needed nor had a grip on my own disorders, and they were incredibly ill and would go through periods where they were on a warpath. I wasn't treated all that good cause of it, and likewise towards them. Still...I hung around as long as I could until I saw that my presence was causing more harm to them than it would being away. So that ended that. It's been a whole decade, I think about them from time to time, and I'm sure they do too.
Although, I'm actually happier alone and "whole"...so I don't really mind missing out on all that stuff. Of course, it took a while to realize this but after a time of being by yourself you learn to actually like it.

I haven’t gotten over her yet… it’s been a year so far
But, been doing a very deep dive into soul searching, introspection, mindset changing (which has been extremely difficult)

We had to break up… very long complicated story

Kristin died in 2010 from ovarian cancer.
I was in a lot of pain for 5 years. I still think of her but one has to move on.
