I like myself but feel like others don't

Or rather, that I don't come across very well, especially early on, and people get put off.

And that's without the feeling that people who do get to know me like me for a time then just seem to lose interest after a while.

I only seem to be neurodivergent enough to be weird, and neurotypical enough to grasp social cues, but not either enough to have it be somehow endearing.

I've started to get the feeling that I'm just not in the right place/surrounded by the right people to be appreciated. Otherwise I can't really understand what's wrong with me. I've played the game and done the things that are supposed to build community and allow me to connect with others, and I was genuine in my interactions with other people. Maybe it's just an incredibly unlucky spin on my part that I keep meeting people that aren't able to meet me where I am. Maybe that's what it is for you too.
