Stuff like that happens. I’ve left the oven on all night and yeah it’s scary. Glad everyone is ok.

Maybe just have a double check next time. I do that all the time with things.

It might be possible that you thought you had turned it off, but the knob had not completely turned and thus, it moved back into place. I actually have had that experience before, and it was not a me issue, but, a hardware issue, and one that's since been fixed (I have an electric coil range so this kind of issue is even more problematic but it definitely is more noticeable).

Not to say that isn't what happened in your case, but it's a possibility. Still though, life lately, has been a "shitload of fuck" (AVGN quote).

And not long ago i accidentally left space heater on all night. I got lucky with that one

That is scary but it is easy to overlook things at times. Comes with being human.

It was a mistake. I've got a gas oven/stove and I've almost blown the place up about a hundred times.

The important thing is that you are okay. Everyone makes mistakes all we can do is learn from them.
