I don’t know why but I feel like a switch was flipped for me recently

And I care significantly less what others think of me. I am at peace with losing friends, breaking off relationships or just having uncomfortable encounter with friends or family. It doesn’t matter if people think I’m weird or stupid or boring. I wish I could have had this mindset years ago. I’d rather be alone and free than trapped with company that walks all over me.

One of the great things about getting older, caring less! One of the bad things about getting older, sagging appendages!

@ShepherdBard creative reasoning...I like it!

Do your ____'s hang low, do they wobble do they fro...

Yes. That switch was flipped for me when I got divorced. My life was cleansed of an abuser. And then in 2011, my mother passed away, who was a manipulator and an abuser, and the relief was so tremendous I thought I might begin to float...seriously! Alone and free is awesome! However, don't forget that you can still make NEW friends...people who are GOOD, and good FOR you!

Good for you!
I feel the same way. Had to get away from toxic family members and fake friends and doing what makes me feel happy.😌

Sounds like freedom. I feel that more and more as well.

You see what people are all about after a while. You can predict their behavior and why.

It comes with age i believe cause the older i get the more i just dont give a fuck about anything
ShepherdBard · 31-35, M
@Beautyinbroken yea seems to be the case for a lot of people. I wish it would have happened earlier for me honestly
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F

Welcome to the- I could care less what you think- club.
It's a great club.

It's very freeing. I got like this with my family bc of all their nonsense and drama. Now I just need to care less about how I come across when it comes to putting myself out there and asking people out etc. I've done it a couple times last year and survived but ugh
ShepherdBard · 31-35, M
@deadgerbil the more you do it the easier it will be
deadgerbil · 26-30
@ShepherdBard do you have any relationship tips for this young buck?
ShepherdBard · 31-35, M
@deadgerbil lol nothing groundbreaking. Be true to who you are and try to be someone you would want to be around
Coralmist · 41-45, F
I have no more irl friends...one drifted away themselves but the other few I just stopped contacting..I was tired of being walked over, or like my feelings didn't matter. I'm fine without them. I do miss going out though..but I agree fully with your thoughts..🪻
@Coralmist What's the point of having friends where you are the only one who puts in all the work, though???

I learned that by the time I was in high school.
It's so liberating, isn't it, Titch...
ShepherdBard · 31-35, M
@HootyTheNightOwl imma request a remeasure my next dr appointment
@ShepherdBard Don't worry... I'll still be taller...
ShepherdBard · 31-35, M
@HootyTheNightOwl we’ll see
Yeah F em

Good on you 😊
That happened to me years ago
ShepherdBard · 31-35, M
@pripyatamusementpark I’m kind of ashamed it took me until now to not care about some of these things
@ShepherdBard we all learn in our own time
That is indeed a liberating place to be. The irony is, the friends who remain are much truer, because they’re accepting friendship on your terms.

It's a great feeling and an anchor off your back.

Life is hard. People make it harder.
