The hardest part of rewriting a book

Is actually changing the plot. Obviously Im trying to change the reasons for the bad guy to do what he does but thats proved next to impossible.
Give me some ideas that would fit in with an urban fantasy setting.

A wealthy young woman and her sister are heirs to a fortune in property and money from their family's estate in burmuda but their cousin has tied it all up in courts for years. They consult with a female spiritism psychic that mysteriously appears to them to locate the missing will that will clear up the mess. They partake and discover in a nude full moon cacao and psilocybin ceremony in a ancient mayan cave that the only way they will see it is over their cousin's dead body and maybe... even their own.

It's a terrible thing to lose the plot. 😏

It's even worse to have to ask strangers what the plot should be for a novel that one is attempting to write!
A porthole opens and a different version of the same badguy swaps places with the one here. He doesn't even know it happened. Now the reasons for what he did are all different.

It may very well be that, rather than revising your manuscript, you have to scrap it and reimagine the story to incorporate that big of a change.

In what context do you want ideas?

What the hell is an urban fantasy setting? What does that even look like?
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
@swirlie magic and sorcery but takes place in the modern world.

Ideas like that come straight from the mind of a story's author, not from other the mind of other people whom you ask for ideas. If you don't know what to write on your own, then don't write a story at all. What I mean is, YOU cannot write someone else's story because their story idea originates NOT from your own mind.
