Why do so few actually use the forums to express something and cast it out there into the ether?

I had a conversation with another girl here about how so few actually write anything to compare worlds. Yes, a conversation would be great but there are so many who don't know how to start one here!

Most people seem to be looking for self-validation and/or reassurance rather than genuine understanding and development.
I wonder this myself. Often I notice, the feed is fed with the same people for me posting useless memes. There are many cliques, and they only look to validate themselves and others in their clique. Makes for very banal conversation, to me. People looking to actually connect, I think, just move on, or they already have a group of friends cultivated, and they write together privately.

I do try but people often think I'm pathetic for sharing. Or like I'll respond to posts but most people don't respond to me at all.

But if I post some random dumb shit people love it.

@AlchemyFox It is kind of a waste to post anything meaningful.
But yeah the dumber the thread, the more likely people are to respond.
The overall intelligence here is special ed. level.

@CestManan for me it's an outlet. I've been here long enough a few people will talk with me. But even they'll disappear mid Convo sometimes.

I bet $20 the OP doesn't even respond to my comment.

It's a poor excuse for conversation but it's worse IRL so here we are 😂

@AlchemyFox I think part of the problem is that this forum is often frustrating for many reasons.
It is hard to take anything serious on here.

Often, if you go to a profile and read the pinned posts, you'll find some substantive sharing
