how good are you at writing. I was trying to write a narrative of my life.

Then I notice I was using to many I's.

If you’re writing memoir then it makes sense to use “I” often. Can you give an example of a block of writing where you feel you’re using the first person perspective too much?

@IsawDDevil yeah, sometimes you just have to accept that you must use the same word fairly often in your writing especially when it’s a first person narrative. We use “I” a lot when describing an action, but this can be reworded most of the time. Here’s an example:

I went to the river. I caught a fish. I cooked the fish. I ate the fish that night.

Turn it into:

That evening, my dinner was the freshly caught fish from my trip to the river.

Not my most creative example, but I think you get the idea.

I can write nonfiction, such as history or analytical items. I cannot write fiction.

@exexec i have the same problem. I wrote many papers and a book, but just can not create fiction
