Why is London nightlife so terrible?

In the north, places like Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle and Liverpool you can party hard into the early hours of the next day.

But in London you can only buy their ridiculously overpriced drink until midnight. And on a weekday only until 10:30pm

London might be alright for attracting tourists but it’s become an incredibly boring place after dark. Frankly my favourite thing about it is the train heading home.

A lot of it is down to the large area covered by pubs, tube train journey times. I’ve drank in London a lot but then go on to specific clubs until early hours and then usually taxi to hotel. I’m originally from Newcastle and nightlife there is great, however it’s all condensed into a small ish area. Glasgow is great, Liverpool and Manchester are good as well. The other part to consider is that all places outside of London it’s local people, with odd visitor, London is a complex group of people from all over the world, they don’t party like northerners do. London is good but disposable income and other factors such as area play a part to reduce how good it can be.
