Have you ever been connected to a wedding where someone was barefoot? Is such a thing common?

I was barefoot at my sister's first wedding. It was outdoors. I sang a song I wrote for them.

@hunkalove That's lovely!

@southerncrossfire44 I don't think the marriage lasted even two years. She came home for lunch one day and caught him in bed with a guy.

@hunkalove Well, at least the wedding day was lovely!😳

I had all my bridesmaids go barefoot, but I wore shoes.
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
@onewithshoes Was the groom also barefoot?
southerncrossfire44 · 51-55, M
@onewithshoes I'm not surprised that you wore shoes, but a little surprised you had your bridesmaids go barefoot. I would have assumed only the groomsmen would be barefoot at your wedding! Also, congratulations on getting married!

@Barefooter25 Yes, he was barefoot as he always is. @southerncrossfire44 No, they wore shoes LOL My husband and I are both very much into contrast. 🙃🙂 It was fun. Thanks.😉

Yes, the wedding was on the beach sand, so bare feet were appropriate for the wedding couple. Most others wore flip-flops or sandals.
Possibly at a beach wedding in the Cook Islands many years ago.

No I don’t think I’m friends or family to anyone who would be that disrespectful.
AdmiralPrune · 46-50, M
@southerncrossfire44 At a wedding people dress formally as a mark of respect to the married couple.

If had turned up at my wedding in anything but a smart suit and shoes you wouldn’t get past the ushers.
southerncrossfire44 · 51-55, M
@AdmiralPrune Fair point, but I think it is also dependent on the format of the wedding. Bare feet at a beach wedding would seem more appropriate than shiny leather shoes.

@southerncrossfire44 I’ve never attended a beach wedding. Weddings that are grand family affairs are more entertaining.
