Why do people care what some wears or don’t wear?

Here's an outstanding example of an extreme case of podophobia requiring medication.

Actually, that's my snarky little way of contradicting you. Most people catch on pretty quick, but I can understand why someone who is as ignorant of basic hygiene as you seem to be might have a little trouble with it.

Bare feet are considerably more sanitary than shoes.
