A tradition in the United States for giving thanks for everything over the past year.
It is sometimes accompanied with saying exactly what you have been thankful for.
It started among the pilgrims and native Americans for the bounty they had recieved and celebrated currently by the whole country as a national holiday.
Must state it never was intended to either be religious nor as a means to further business profits until many decades later after WWII.

@DeWayfarer Abraham Lincoln made it a national holiday during his term in office.

its a holiday that is supposed to be both a remembrance of the time before the white man fucked the indigenous peoples over when they were helped survive their first winters cause white man is FUCKING STUPID and didnt give themselves enough time to grow enough food.. AND it is a time we are supposed to give into the capitalistic SHIT SHOW and claim to be thankful to be with our families, when in reality is just more time to complain at each other!

Just a day off work and excuse to feast with family. I don't care about dirty pilgrims.

Marketing move to make money, just like commercialized Christmas

It's when Americans eat turkey once a year with their families they never else meet. They might say what they're thankful for but most just like the tradition because it involves food.

It's our time to give thanks to God for all the freedoms we enjoy. And to thank God for not making us liberals.
InHeaven · F
Actually, that time is everyday...to thank God @Disgustedman no where in the Bible does it say set up a thanksgiving once a year and sacrifice a turkey to thank Me (the God).
