There are many that consider themselves as minimalists.
They really are not.
There's a difference between those that collect things, use things and lack of use.
The very wealthy may consider themselves as minimalists. Simply because that just don't collect anything. Just get rid of anything after just one use.
I might consider myself as one myself. I buy little as possible.
That doesn't mean I don't make the most of what I do have. Yet in order to do that though you must have something to use the most and therefore you collect rather than buy.

@DeWayfarer The truest minimalists are cultures of frugality like the Koisan.

@DeWayfarer It has to be reinterpreted in our lifestyle.
RebelFox · 36-40, F
Very much so
wackidywack · 26-30
Hm, not really. I'm not very materialistic but when I want something/s, I don't particularly care if it's/they're minimalist or not
QueenOfTheNerds · 41-45, F
Yes.
I dislike “stuff” for the sake of having stuff. Everything I own is either meaningful or useful.

Very much so. 'We are rich not by what we have, but by what we can do without.'

Kind of! I don't have many expenses and I avoid buying unnecessary stuff.
Notsimilar · 31-35, F

bijouxbroussard · F
Not at all. I wish I were.
CallistaSloane · 31-35, F
@bijouxbroussard it could be done little by little if you want it :)
bijouxbroussard · F
@CallistaSloane I understand that it’s doable. Just really unlikely considering how many hobbies I have.

No but i suppose aspects of that. I dont need alot of space. Almost everything i have fits in 1 room. I have nice things but few things.
pedrohedgerow · 61-69, M
No,just a free spirit, but I may be wrong, which would be almost unheard of.Lets keep this between us,I have money.
SW-User
Not at all, I buy lots of stuff and regret it yet I go and buy more . As long as I have money I’ll buy .
CestManan · 46-50, F
Not quite minimalist but even the bit of useless junk I own is organized and well displayed.
Ksmile14 · F
I live. pretty simple life so I'd say I lean in that direction.
SW-User

CallistaSloane · 31-35, F

At times.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
Yes, although a little less than before. A while back I was determined to get rid of pretty much everything. Now I don't care that much about stuff I don't use or don't care for since I have the space anyways.
But if I were to move somewhere smaller I would have no problem throwing lots of stuff away.
There is only very few things that I really want or need.

Nowhere near.
CallistaSloane · 31-35, F
@ViciDraco why though?
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@CallistaSloane convenience, comfort, or entertainment are the usual reasons I purchase something.
If I was by myself I could minimalise more. But my family would be miserable if I pressed them into it.
