My ANNOYING Friend!!!!!!
I apologize in advance. It has been one of those difficult "friend" days.
I have a friend who lives two towns over, and I have been trying to take care of him a little bit, by bringing him free food from the food pantry every week. It's a 30 minute drive each way.
Today, he was unpacking the frozen things I brought over, and he did not say one nice thing about the package of TWO Ribeye steaks I brought him. But he DID pull out a TV dinner omelet and made a face over that.
I brought him grapes, and he loves grapes, but he said not one thing about the grapes.
He DOES have some medical issues, for sure...but lately he doesn't want to even TRY.
Today, at least, there was no drama-queen moaning over and over again, so I am grateful for small favors.
His family visited him a while back and they went to the trouble of helping him install the Walmart app on his phone, and they taught him how to place an order for food, for pickup or delivery. Of course, he says he doesn't WANT delivery. Why? Oh, probably because that would be too easy.
No, instead, he wanted, (please note the past tense), to pick up his groceries. And since he refuses to put his brand new battery which I helped him pick up into his TRUCK, he can't even drive down the street to get his groceries...so I have to do it. He can't SEE very well to drive, but if he goes really slow, he can make it down the street to Walmart. Oh...and his FRIENDS and neighbors can't lift the new battery into place, because: "They would WRECK my truck!!!"
AND it gets worse.
TODAY he told me that it took him 12 hours to try to place his grocery order online at Walmart, AND his IPOD nearly ran out of juice while he was doing that, and THEN he forgot to add something to his order that he needed, but for some reason was unable to add the item to the order. So he cancelled the whole thing.
Just like he cancelled his appointment at the wound clinic last month, and NOW desperately needs to GO.
There are times when I feel like washing my hands of him, or calling his sister and telling her she needs to put him in a nursing home. Except I KNOW how much he would hate that, and the complaining would NEVER end...not to mention probable lawsuits which are SURE to happen for sexual harassment and racism.
I ALMOST offered to place his grocery orders FOR him. Then I said to myself, "No, you are already enabling him enough!"
Once again...sorry. I needed to get that off my chest.
