I am just venting

So it's happened at last twice this week that Joel has gotten dizzy and lightheaded and it's clearly because he's having low blood sugar. But he refuses to let the doctor do any blood work or test. I know he's a grown man and there is not much I can do to make him get the test done! It's just very frustrating and I don't know why he won't let them run blood work. He hasn't done any tests in years.

2 thoughts.
1) maybe just trick him into giving you a vial of blood. . . Get him to donate a pint then try to get a sample too something like that
And 2) there are foods that contain mimics of insulin. Insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). The best example is cow's milk.
Should he find blood sugar to be less of a concern when consuming (IGFs) that would strongly indicate blood sugar as a concern.
Good luck.
Other exanples of IGFs are meat and eggs.

@exchrist a good doctor would call a band him to donate blood?

@Cigarguy101 a good doctor would want to know if their patient has health conditions and would go to lengths to get a sample to determine need.

@exchrist well he's not willing to do it so it doesn't matter 😔

I remember the first incident at the movies .. and he hadn't eaten lunch. On the second incident, had he not eaten as well?
Cigarguy101 · 41-45, M
@Coralmist yes the second time it happened was the day we were unpacking all day. I don't think he ate much. This Tuesday we both fell asleep and didn't eat dinner. I heard from his co worker that he got dizzy early that morning. So I know it's from him not eating and his BS is crashing. I thought about being really bad and asking his ex wife about it, but I know he'd get mad if I did that.

@Cigarguy101 It Def sounds like he had not enough to eat. And a low blood sugar. Diabetes would be high blood sugars. Remind him if he has too light a meal, to carry some Swedish fish on him or candies.

@Coralmist yeah all these things definitely happen the day he missed a meal or didn't eat enough. I'm thinking it might be hypoglycemia.
Diabetes I would guess. He can die from that. He probably already knows. Just keep a chocolate bar in his pocket always.

@JamesBugman I know that's why it's so frustrating he won't go get blood work done

@JamesBugman @Cigarguy101 If it were diabetes, he'd most likely be with severe thirst or weight loss... The sugars wouldn't be going down, they'd be high unfortunately 😟
