I'm not proud of myself...

There are so many people here that are dealing with REAL health issues. With life or death issues...and here I am venting because I am in a little bit of pain.

I have that sick to my stomach feeling that occurs whenever I've lost my temper, and whenever I insult someone who doesn't really deserve it, out of my own frustration.

This morning, it was the scheduler at my doctor's office, who was told to call me by the Medical Assistant, who doesn't do her own dirty work. I think I said, "Duh, Duh" to her twice. And then I told her that I wanted the Medical Assistant to call me herself, because she, also was not very bright.

Basically they tried to send me BACK to the same pain management place that made my back WORSE, and who never called me for a follow-up, and told me that my primary care physician does not see her own patients if they need pain management. (And this was after I thoroughly explained all of the above when I called to make the appointment with my doctor.)

It's all upsetting and frustrating for me. I almost never go to the doctor. I didn't go when I got the flu, (because the same medical assistant, little Hitler, wouldn't give me a flu shot on two separate occasions because I had a runny nose from allergies).

I don't GO to the doctor for small illnesses.

Anyway...enough self justification. I've been a lousy rotten Karen b!tch to someone who didn't deserve it at all. I feel sick.

Don't feel too bad. I too will be dealing with a doctor issue once the office is past their lunch break. Two times I've tried to get my Lantus insulin prescription rewritten because it doesn't work in equal doses with the discontinued Levemir. I need twice the dose for same results. I received a text this morning to check the prescription request I made and it's the same dose. I'm beyond angry now I'm dealing with complete incompetence.

@4meAndyou Well the Rx is still screwed up according to doc office text. Now it included the discontinued Levemir. I called back and had to explain it all over again. The mystery now is who I spoke with the first time. It was a guy but I was it's all women working the desk. Anyway she was going directly to the docs nurse to explain the issue and said they would call me back to ensure the matter has been cleared up. The people in the pharmacy must be going WTH? because they received these Rxs every time I get a review notice.

@Gibbon I have seen these cluster effs in the health insurance business. You are just SO sure it is all cleared up...you've explained it to everyone...but no one can fix the lazy, uncaring POS who just clicks the same button over and over again whenever he or she is asked to re-issue the prescription.

@4meAndyou TBH I'll be shocked if I actually get a call today or tomorrow. If I get a text with the correction I'll be satisfied. They give themselves 3 days to fulfill requests. Dammit listen to the recording and get it right.

I've learned over the years that you need to be your own advocate. The days of Marcus Welby are long gone. You are now just one of many who drive revenue. That's the focus these days. One good thing..... if you aren't happy with your medical care, CHANGE PRACTITIONERS. I have become a careful consumer. I let them know right up front what my expectations are.
4meAndyou · F
@carpediem It's somewhat limited here. There aren't tons of choices. In fact, I thought I was REALLY lucky to stay within this practice when my own Primary Care physician left.

IMO, it's the Medical Assistant who is causing my personal problems...but I do understand that a primary care physician exists primarily to refer you out to other specialists.

I'm going to make a phone call and talk to the people over at the Spine Center down the street, and try to find out if THEY are the correct place for me to go.

@4meAndyouGood to be proactive
4meAndyou · F
@daydeeo Yup! Turns out they are NOT the correct place. I called an orthopedic doctors office at their suggestion, and their Medical Assistant will call me when she comes in, tomorrow.

I ALSO looked up the pain medications Tramadol and Ultram, and found out that I can't take them because I have three gastric ulcers. I looked up what you CAN take if you have ulcers, and it said Cox2 inhibitors. I looked up Cox2 inhibitors, and found out the ONLY Cox2 inhibitor that can be legally prescribed in the United States is Celebrex. I am allergic to Celebrex. It gives me hives.

I did find out that I MIGHT be able to take low dose, coated aspirin. Maybe. I am trying that out right now, because I have some in the house.
Don't be too hard on yourself. Seems our healthcare system has turned into a bit of an administrative nightmare due to Obamacare. I've found it can be rather frustrating working with the doctor's office and insurance companies.
4meAndyou · F
@BizSuitStacy In this case, there is ONE Medical assistant who is on a power trip.
@4meAndyou all the more reason not to be hard on yourself.
4meAndyou · F
@BizSuitStacy THANK you. You are kind to want to make me feel better.

Well pain can make a person miserable. I can overlook an outburst due to that because it’s happened to me too. I was coming down with the flu a long time ago and snapping at everyone because I had such a feeling of malaise and didn’t know it was the flu.
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti Thank you for giving me an excuse. I keep wanting to call and apologize, but I think that would just make it worse.

Reading this I would have to say
Your one in a million because almost everyone never admits that they made a mistake or said something that they should not have said 🌹
4meAndyou · F
@antonioioio Awww. THANK you so much for being so kind.

It's really unfortunate that you have to deal with so much unprofessional and careless medical practitioners. These days doctors have become businessmen.

Take care of yourself. 🤗
4meAndyou · F
@ABCDEF7 THANK you. You've made me feel slightly better. It makes me actually sick to my stomach when I am mean to anyone, but I think perhaps I MIGHT have had reason to be that way...a little bit. Thank you for being a kind friend!

*Hugs* I'm sorry :(

@FreestyleArt Thank you.

Sadly we all have those days occasionally and yes it does make us feel bad. Fortunately I can honestly say that you are a very good person and a very good friend 😊
4meAndyou · F
@Musicman Awww. Thank you. Unfortunately I just pooped all over that poor scheduler's day and made her feel terrible.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@4meAndyou If I know you, you will feel bad about it for an entire week now. ☹
4meAndyou · F
@Musicman Yes...🙋🏼‍♀...former Catholic here. Guilt, guilt, guilt. 😭
