Seriously, why would you laugh at someone being upset? I honestly want to know. Does it bring you joy? What kind of monster feels mirth when someone else is upset?

@Starcrossed My thoughts, exactly.
I once had a schoolmate who got a thrill out of upsetting people and I was one of the people he got a thrill out of upsetting.

@Starcrossed I am so very sorry for your loss, I truly am, my Dad died two months before my 11th birthday in early 1981, I know what You are going through, I changed my reaction.

@NativePortlander1970 it's not cool to laugh at anyone who is hurting. I appreciate you changing it, I wish doing so would take away that you've upset me even more but it hasn't.
@Starcrossed I am truly and honestly sorry I assumed it was political
