For right now I would just communicate with the brother. D you have his phone number (brother) ifno get it and talk to the brother to see what exactly the level of stroke. I am a stroke recoveree and it took me a while before I was even able to respond to anyone.

His brother can bring the message over to him.
But with a stroke it'll take some time till ya bf will be fit enaugh to text you again I believe. So give him some time but also show him your there. I'm sure his brother won't mind reading your message to him 🙂

It doesn't hurt to ask how he is and to wait to hear from him to demonstrate your care. If his brother sees that, he can relay it for you too

Honestly, this sounds like the guy is making up a story to ditch you. I can't say for 100% sure. Is the brother texting you from the BF's phone or from a different number?
