I am Rude. Or so my new cleaning lady informed me.

She put my new pillow on the floor, and when I told her that I have severe asthma, and I don't want my pillow on the floor, she argued that she had just cleaned the floor, and where else was she supposed to put it? I pointed out the empty chair.

I reminded her that I have severe asthma, and am allergic to dust mites, and that I don't want my pillow on the floor, and told her that she is just not thinking.

She said, "That's REALLY RUDE!!!"

Then she said it is obvious that I am not happy with her, (ya' think?), and said she was going to ask to be reassigned.

This was after about an hour of NO work, and arguments when she first started this morning, because I mistakenly believed that when you are done mopping a floor there should not be food on it and it should actually LOOK clean.

I had to call her work to get clear about their policies, and apparently filthy floors are okay with them.

There is something really, really wrong somewhere.

It must be me.

It’s a simple request to someone who’s in your employ.

Personally I would not have tolerated a long discussion about it and I’m an understanding employer.

I would terminate her next time.

@gdon39 There won't be a next time. I didn't fire her, but she told me she was going to ask to be reassigned, so I called her supervisor immediately, The supervisor asked me if I wanted her to leave, and I said I wanted her to finish the laundry. So she got the last load in the dryer and then left.

She was a young girl, and I think a lot of young people these days think it's okay to argue about almost everything.

@4meAndyou I’m sure you are correct. I can’t keep a house cleaning duo more than a year before I can’t take it anymore.

The last two were so incredible and lasted about a year and three months.

After around the second month I was excited about them. I was willing to leave if I needed to and left the pay. After a while that clearly wasn’t working.

Both of the ladies were quite short in stature and I am 6’3”+. I began seeing a cleaning height level developing.

Next I started finding odd things that were personal and put away and for some reason they would be placed oddly about in the second floor. I’m still accepting things as if I could be mistaken.

Dealing with those issues, one of the ladies came to me to help get her son out on bail. She wanted money but I I called my business attorney and asked him to look it up. She has just a daughter.

They were fired by me late that night and fired again in the morning after I called the service.

Who goes through your private bedroom things and then moves them around?!

@gdon39 They were probably looking for valuables. It's always a mistake to leave cleaning people alone in the house.

@4meAndyou it’s crazy how you can be so considerate of their needs and pay better than standard wages and still be treated poorly. Ugh!

What do you think they were thinking about when taking private adult toys out of the bedside table and moving them around? It sounds unbelievable but I assure you I am serious.

@gdon39 I have no idea what they might have been thinking, but they were clearly out of line.
