My moms deviled eggs.
My grandma's lasagne.
My MIL chocolate cake.
If I'm depressed AND nostalgic its Kraft mac and cheese out of the pot I made it in with a big spoon. OR
An American cheese sandwich on soft white bread with Kraft sandwich spread. OR
PB&J with a big glass of milk..

@dragonfly46 I do the PB with milk and the kraft when I'm depressed too.

Cook- cabbage soup, or cinnamon toast if that counts.
Drink- only nostalgic drink I can think of is ginger ale when I felt ill. My mom gave me that when was Ick as a child and I still drink it now as an adult when I fell unwell. I never have it otherwise.
Bake- 7 layer magic bars. Again a thing I had as a kid. Haven’t made in a while but they remind me of my childhood and taste like tooth decay. Soo good :)

@CanuckAF Yeah, I drink ginger ale whenever my stomach feels wonky
CanuckAF · FNew
@WanderingHelplessly ginger ale is the best cure for the wonkys
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@CanuckAF It really is

I cook Jamaican stew beef or oxtail stew. I drink Diet Pepsi and I bake cornbread.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@Sapio My Father used to make cornbread with tons of honey. Called it Johnny Cake
My mom and I would make an apple pie every fall with fresh local apples. I still make one every year.

@Mindful it's the best apple pie too 😁
Mindful · 56-60, F
@EldritchFox made with double love
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@EldritchFox I love apple pie

Family recipes like cheesy vegetable crumble or casserole. There's a park not too far away that we used to go to a lot. My nan used to believe kids should get lots of fresh air so we'd go for a walk then have a casserole when we returned.

@CrazyChick21 Sounds nice

Oops
I write. I drink. I listen to music. I paint.

I make my dad's meatloaf. It's fucking delicious, but I still can't get it to come out exactly the same as he makes it.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@SleepingWithGhosts That can be a challenge
Spaghetti. Bc it's my favorite food and I try my best to get the sauce like my grandma did and it's great but never quite as awesome as hers.

I make homemade mac and cheese, look at old pictures, and cry.
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, M
@AbbeyRhode I do that sometimes
exexec · 70-79, C
I look at old photos and listen to music.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
I don't. I go to MacDonald's and order a large vanilla milkshake and a medium fries then do a mega dose insulin bolus and celebrate the treat
TheHammer · M
I just drink

None of the above. My past is present in the few photos that I display, and they are always with me.

I don't 'access' memories through food, but a good reminder of younger days is sausage and mash with peas and gravy (NOT onion gravy, thank you. 😄)
