What gives you so much nostalgia it's painful?

I was looking up the old Yahoo homepage from when I used to frequent it back in 2008 and I would give anything to be able to click on the old "Answers" tab again. ANYTHING.

Photos I took around 2013. It's hard to believe it's been over 10 years already. I wish I could go back and make so much more of those times. Considering how the world is today, I feel like we took so many things for granted...
@CrazyMusicLover I have to agree with you there. If only we had know 😞
I make then best of every year here on in, every season month week day 🙌

Visiting my childhood village, where my parents still live
Books that I gave up after moving repeatedly. It struck me the other day that some of them had been gifts from my dad. I bought new copies, but I really wish I had those specific ones.

@NativePortlander1970 i don't think i'll get anywhere near 50. but if i do i understand the nostalgia will be tough to deal with. to say the least.
@looping Ask your parents what nostalgia means to them, and which things they avoid due to being too painful.

@NativePortlander1970 i'd rather not. i don't have that type of relationship with my parents. it's more of a "good morning" "good night" kinda vibe.
Oslo International Airport. I cannot go there. If I went there I might cry. It reminds me too much of the love of my life.

@NativePortlander1970 I feel you😔
@Bleak I have an old photo of me about six years old in 1976, sitting on a fountain ledge outside the entrance of the Washington Park Zoo west of DownTown Portland. My Dad took the photo when we were on my first grade field trip, he volunteered as one of the parental chaperones, he died 43 years ago just two months short of my 11th birthday.
