I turned 40 in 2000. It seems like the last 22 years have zoomed by. I now have a niece and a godson, adults who have grown up in the 21st century. It’s mindblowing. 🤯

A bit nostalgic, yeah. I was in primary/high school growing up so I focused on my personal problems more than anything else. I was completely unaware and uninterested in politics or News.
School, playing computer games, watching music channels on TV when I came home from school, having crushes, daydreaming, summer vacations at grandparents' house, reading novels, hunting for music on questionable pirate sites, playing "snakes" on an old mobile phone because that was the only thing worth playing on it 😆, getting midi tones of famous songs (I had Rammstein midi ring tones), always walking everywhere with a mp3 player hanging around my neck on a string, and my first years of communicating with people on social media sites or simply writing in my "blog", first in my native language, later in English...Last.fm, Deviantart...

I missed to be young again. I wish I didn't screwed up too soon.
I wasn't mentally prepared that time.

Things got kind of rough for my family in late 2001-early 2002. It was a rollercoaster but I do have nostalgia also.

I had a lot of trauma at the beginning of the 2000s and lived most of them on autopilot.

I'm a 90s kid, 2000s were strange times for me being a teen.

For me:
A transition from the 90's was felt. War crisis around the world started to impact more. World slowly becoming like a global village.
I can probably write more.

I have no real opinion even though I grew up during it being born in 1998. Maybe I was too young

@JohnOinger Time Magazine Once Named The 2000s The Decade From Hell 🤣
Well, if i exclude the part where I was extremely poor and scared , 2000s were a great period for me.
My childhood took place then, so my memories aren’t the happiest lol

I do not remember much of what was going on. My personal life was a roller coaster though.

Decade of terrorism, war, puberty, and school, is kinda how I remember it. I have fond memories in there too though.
