Confinement for how long?

It's just after 4.30 pm and it's dark outside.
I'm looking into my garden and as another day closes I'm contemplating what I have done today.
Much the same as yesterday.
Days are melting into each other and the past year has gone far too quickly.
How will we feel when we can hold and hug our loved ones again?
Will we take our freedom for granted again as before?

Even for an introvert like me this has gone on way too long. I just want to go do simple things like browse books in the libraries or hang out in a bookstore, go to a thrift store or yard sales or farmer鈥檚 market or sit in a restaurant and stay a bit long talking with friends and no mask.

@cherokeepatti Yes, I like doing the simple things in life. I have always been a homebody, but this is a bit too much now.

@Toesinthesand I liked to go shopping early in the morning like about 8-8:30 before the stores got busy, take my sweet time and not have to think about anything but enjoying my morning. I was getting more exercise that way. The weather many times is too cold, too windy, raining etc. and when I am in stores I can walk without worrying about it hurting my joints or getting wet or too cold or too hot.
You control how you live your life in these times. Do something for you and for your life. You can learn things. You have the internet. Read. Grow. Do a few productive things each day. Then you will accomplish something. Do pleasurable things. Things that make your heart sing. These times won't last forever. Learn to be stronger. You can do this.
@cherokeepatti Thanks, but those are the rules. So we have to listen so that, in the future, we CAN go to those places again. You have plenty to keep you busy meanwhile. I am painting inside. That keeps me busy for now. Soon back to work.

@PoetryNEmotion I never said I couldn鈥檛 keep myself busy. I鈥檇 like a change of scenery.
@cherokeepatti You can go outside. You can drive around. You are not trapped indoors, CP.

I haven't taken my freedom or my time for granted one single time since I left the penitentiary. We can still do things and live our lives with everything going on. It might not be the same things but you can always use the down time to do other things or learn new things. Its all on how we spend it I feel like. I've been spending mine constructively and almost glad to have the opportunities I've been allowed with the free time. Under other circumstances it wouldnt be so bad.

It's very difficult. I got in my car and drove to my son's house to drop off Christmas gifts for him and his family. We met outside, and I was wearing my mask.

I hadn't realized how very much I missed seeing his dear face until it was time to leave, and I choked up. I cry now, every time I think of it.

We could not hug, and I was disinvited for Christmas because of the virus. I think I will probably become one of those weepy old things, who cry at the drop of a hat in gratitude when her family speaks to her...馃ぃ

Think it is going to be a good few years before anything like normal , packed stadiums, concerts, pubs packed, as we don't know how long the vaccine lasts or if one is needed every year it sounds depressing
