Like everything, there's always a few bad people or bad examples that get characterized as being representative of an entire group. I've found southern people quite friendly and open, strong believers in God, and family oriented. Certain states could do more to help impoverished and drug addicted people change things.

I’m not a purebred but I claim the south as my home. If you don’t like who you are, change.

High cheekbones aren’t part of being "from the south", they’re often part of being Native American, and people all over the country have them. I was under the impression that you were proud of your indigenous heritage (as you should be).
But talking about suicide because someone’s ragging on the south…counseling would definitely be a good idea. 🥺
