Your mind still processing his loss. For me, it feels like my late brother in dreams was always away doing his studies and had reached back for few days for a visit. Every time same feeling. For years have passed but same every time. My mind have accepted he is not here with us but made up he is somewhere out studying.
For you, Try to see how did you feel whenever he come into your dream.

@brainrapist so sorry to hear this. It must be difficult still. My father was my favorite family member

i had a somewhat similiar dream once about my mom. we had her body and the family was around trying to plan a funeral then she starts speaking. she's not making any sense but she's talking and i'm trying to listen to her and her input and everyone's looking at me like i'm the crazy one for wanting to listen

@brainrapist and of course to clairfy i'm not trying to make a post about dreams youve had of your father who you've lost into a post about dreams i've had about my mom who i've lost. i just wanted you to know youre not alone and grief dreams can sometimes be reassuring or outright nightmarish. i believe we dream to help ourselves process our thoughts and feelings. i don't know the relationship youve had with your dad and so it's not my place to speculate on your behalf. i believe my dream was about having a hard time accepting she's really gone (why she came back to life) and how she often went unheard (no one understood her or tried to understand when she spoke)

Thats awful.
I had teally upsetting dreams about my dad after he passed away too.
You can't put a time line on grief.
Sometimes things just come up and hit you out of the blue even years after they have been gone.
