Last night I took a fall down the stairs!

On 10-6-2026 at 4:47 pm my sister passed away at her home with hospice care as I share earlier in a post. I went home to get my Rottweiler Tonka and came back to spend the night at her house with my sister's husband to give him company. I bought a pizza and beer, and we watched their favorite movie together eating and having two beers a piece. Then he fell asleep on his end of the L shape couch. It was nice to finally to see him rest. A couple of hours later I stood up and went up the stairs without turning on a light to grab my toothbrush and tooth paste out of my bag. As I came back downstairs with the lights off to use the rest room to brush my teeth and wash my face before falling asleep on my side of the couch. My feet slipped and I hit the stairs and slid from the top mid-way down It made one hell of a loud noise along with my loud, "Oh Shit, Ouch Oh F--k"! Mark jumped up off of the couch and ran over to the hospice bed seated by his front door in the living room because Hospice had not picked it up yet looking for my sister thinking she fell out of bed all half awake and startled awake by my fall and shouts. Marked collected his thoughts and asked if it was me and did I just fall down the stairs, and then he told me he thought I was my sister falling out of the Hospice bed. I tried to cut the tension and said, "Nope, that little shit came back out of heaven and pushed my ass down the stairs one last time before talking to ole Saint Pete." We laughed and I have a bruised right forearm and right leg and hip from taking the ride down the stairs but all good.

This morning when I went to get my bags from upstairs Mark offered several times to do it for me and put on every light, I said, "thanks but if that little bitch is going to haunt you in this house let me be her only victim, she is finally getting even with me"! LOL.

We both laughed and we needed it. I had coffee with him and Tonka and I went home.

Oh MY GOSH!!! Thank God you weren't hurt MUCH worse than that!!! Please don't try to walk down any stairs in the dark in the future!

And even though you called your sister a naughty name, the love you felt for her comes through in EVERYTHING you did for her, and even in your teasing.

I hope and pray that her husband will be all right now.

@MellyMel22 They say Humor is always the best medicine. and why I try and be as funny as I can on most posts I reply to here unless they call for a serious response to a serious question.

Thank you.

@OogieBoogie Not bruised too badly I push mowed some when I got home. I shared this to show humor in bad situations and laughing at what we cannot control is the best medicine for the survivors.

Please Laugh that is why I shared this!

@OogieBoogie I was an automotive and diesel technician. Every time someone got hurt we all laughed.. small injuries stitches ect to broken bones. Lots of fun hahhahaha!
