When does death of a close love one hit you?

Am I ass for not feeling grief for someone close to me that died Friday night.

This is someone I grown up with since grammar school and I'm kinda mad at myself for not feeling grief

Sometimes it can take a while. Days, weeks, months, years. You really never know. It took a couple years for my grandmother's death to hit me and then just one day out of the blue I was completely wrecked.
