My aunt passed away suddenly yesterday

It's just over a year since my other aunt died(both on my mom's side). My mom was one of eleven, so unfortunately this will be playing out many more times. Sudden brain aneurysm. No warning. No chance to say goodbye. No nothing.

We're all shocked and it's just beginning to sink in. I thought I was going to be OK until I got to work today, then all of my body felt heavy and everything felt sore. Nothing was lifting me out of it. I even made a coworker laugh to the point of doubling over and spitting out his drink. That made me feel a bit better, but everything still HURT.

I asked to leave to grab a cup of coffee, and then things felt better; I never had coffee be a mood lifter, but it was today--and I'm not asking questions.

I wasn't going to even mention it because I'm not particularly the type to list every setback. But this was a sucker punch. Unlike my aunt who passed in 2021, who was ill for an extended period of time and was given a short time in which to exist, that was not the case this time.

So, if I'm extra grouchy the next few days, this is why. It's funny how no two grief experiences are quite the same.
